Saturday Morning In Nusa Lembongan Bali

Saturday mornings are made for this. Hands up if you’re craving it right now 👌

There’s much you can see and do while on Nusa Lembongan, including a collection of pristine beaches with coarse white sand, soaring cliff viewpoints, and sea views that can get very idyllic at sunset, overlooking the outline of Bali’s highest peak, Mount Agung, on the horizon. Other land attractions include a mysterious underground house, lush mangrove forests, and seafood farming villages that retain their old ways.

On Lembongan alone, there’s a great collection of surf breaks along its northwest coast, while snorkelers and divers can enjoy the crystal clear waters and vivid reefs off its southwestern coasts and around the neighbouring island of Nusa Penida. Although a single-day cruise is usually enough to experience one island, you’ll require an overnight stay to be able to fit it all into your itinerary. Here are the few highlights of interest.

Goa Gajah’s name is slightly misleading, lending the impression that it’s a gigantic dwelling full of elephants. Nevertheless, Goa Gajah ‘Elephant Cave’ is an archaeological site of significant historical value that makes it a special place to visit. Located on the cool western edge of Bedulu Village, six kilometres out of central Ubud, you do not need more than an hour to descend to its relic-filled courtyard and view the rock-wall carvings, a central meditational cave, bathing pools and fountains.

Daydreaming in the middle of tropical paradise 💙

Nusa Ceningan Islands which are located 20 km away from Bali to the south-east coast consist of three islands named as Nusa Penida Island, Nusa Lembongan Island and Nusa Ceningan Island. Compared to the other two islands, Nusa Ceningan Island is the smallest one. Going to Nusa Ceningan Island can be traveled by using a boat departed from Sanur.

Similar to the other two islands, Nusa Ceningan Island’s climate is also dry and hot. The problem faced by the locals is also the same, which is always about the water supply. However, the nature of Nusa Ceningan Island is a spectacular one. Since the Nusa Ceningan Island is not a big island, you can explore every inch of this spectacular beauty within a short period of time. To heat up your day in Nusa Ceningan Island, you can start your journey from the eastern part of the island where you will find an amazing coral reef. In this location, you can spoil yourself by swimming, surfing and also snorkeling. This is a perfect place to enjoy the clear water and to see a great variety of underworld creatures, such as the corals and fish.

Guests seeking solitude are sure to find it here, along with a fully equipped kitchen and a scooter that is free to use. Surrounding wildlife is abundant; travelers should be prepared to encounter animals from cats and ducks to frogs and cows.
This house has two floors and includes a cozy living area (with a hanging hammock), big wardrobe, bathroom, and an outdoor shower.

Looking to tap into your creative side? The Hideout comes complete with books, nine musical instruments (including a quick guide how to play ukulele!), art supplies, board games, and a yoga mat.

The view from the house is focused directly on one of the most sacred places around, called Campuhan; Campuhan is Balinese for a place where two rivers meet. It serves as a source of holy water for ceremonies and cleansing the body and spirit.
The Hideout is in walking distance from a resort where you can enjoy a nice dinner with an unforgettable view of Mount Agung. You can easily reach many traditional small shops and eateries by bike as well. Guests can go trekking through the rice fields, climb up Mount Agung, go snorkeling or diving, visit the night market and local temples -- the adventures are endless!

Banyumala Twin Waterfall Bali

March 23, 2018 0 edit
bali-lombok

Tag your babes to wander around together in this dreamy place ❤️

Banyumala Waterfall is one of the lesser known waterfalls in Bali.  It is located north of Lake Buyan in northcentral Bali.  Unlike many trails this is a completely natural trail and rarely hiked trail.  Just past the waterfall is a water curtain of various trickles of water down a wall of lush rocks.

Rating and length – moderately easy (physically) – moderately difficult to walk – 1 km – 30-40 minutes round trip

How to get there – Banyumala is located in Wanagiri district near the northeastern end of Lake Buyan.  It is on the crater rim road between Munduk and the main highway from Singaraja to Denpasar.  This is not an easy waterfall to find.  There is a faded sign leading down a small rural road away from Lake Buyan.  This is the easy part.  After this there are a series of painted orange arrows with a several left and right turns ultimately ending up on a single track motorcycle trail.  It is recommended that you try to hire a guide (info below). It might be possible to get there using the GPS coordinates but I would have never found the waterfall without a guide.

The hike – The hike is only 200-300 meters but it isn’t a particularly easy trail to walk.  There is also one ladder to climb down.  Just after the waterfall is a rock wall with hundreds of small dripping streams.  I think this pool is deep enough for some awesome secluded swimming.

Suluban Beach Bali

Wouldn’t mind to spend hours under the sun here ❤️

Suluban Beach is one of Bali’s most unique coasts, concealed by natural limestone formations and accessed via steps and log ramps through narrow gaps in the rock. Canopied by a looming cliff face, this small beach may not be ideal for sunbathers, but serves pro surfers well as a base to paddle out and ride adjacent reef breaks, including around Uluwatu, just to the south.

Nicknamed ‘Blue Point’, Suluban Beach lies at the end of Jalan Mamo in the coastal area of Labuan Sait, the same locality shared by famous surf spots Padang Padang and Uluwatu. Unless you’re staying at any of the villas that have recently popped up here (the likes of Blue Point Bay Villas), getting here from popular areas such as Kuta and Jimbaran is best by hotel shuttle, taxi or motorbike.

I am proud to say that we are the only dedicated elephant rescue park in Bali and for the last 20 years been involved in the upkeep and breeding of the 27 elephants that we originally saved from government camps in Sumatra. These elephants have now successfully bred naturally to add 4 babies to our herd which showcases our commitment to both saving these endangered species, all of which would have died, had they been left in the Sumatran camps. We are fully committed to giving this herd of elephants a comfortable and happy existence for the remainder of their lives as well as educating the public to the plight faced by this endangered pachyderm, due to the devastating deforestation happening in their homeland.

Campuhan Ridge Walk is a free and easy nature trek, popular among repeat visitors to the central highland town of Ubud. The area provides a great retreat from the more hectic southern parts of the island, but this trail presents an even more pristine outback to escape from the contemporary boutique, guesthouse and restaurant-lined Jalan Raya Ubud. While the hike lets you enjoy cool fresh air and probably the most gorgeous hillside vista in the region, it also allows you to shed off some calories too with its nine-kilometre hill track.

Beach, sunshine and lover. What a perfect tropical day in Bali ❤

Bingin is a stunning beach with unrivalled views over the Indian Ocean and the great wave that make it one of the most demanded surfing points by surfers in Bali and the world.
The five star wave here is big, powerful and challenging. It has been able to stimulate and fascinate the adrenaline of every surfer, and especially the experienced and professional surfers.
Although a small distance away from the parking area, it’s never been easier to walk down to the beach with an access that keeps getting better.

When you first arrive, you will have to walk down some narrow alley ways and if you are new to Bali, you will probably question if you are in the right place. . . but don't worry, eventually the alley ways open up to incredible ocean views.

People always say it's worth it :) Bingin Beach is located in the South of Bali, in the Pecatu Village. It is only 30 minutes from Denpasar Airport and less than 10 minutes to Uluwatu Temple, one of the stunning tourist destinations of Bali Island.

Bingin is also situated close to the other famous surfing points such as Padang-Padang, Impossible and Dreamland within swimming distance as well as Uluwatu, Suluban, and Balangan. Most of these can even be walked to and from during a beautiful low tide.
Walking along the then exposed coral riff is a breathtaking experience.

Lesser-travelled by visitors compared to the other two, Nusa Penida also features a very limited number of hotels and tourist features. Nevertheless, what it lacks in infrastructure, it makes up for with its unspoiled natural beauty and rare cultural highlights.

You might think that because you’re familiar with the banana you should focus your fruit tasting on all the other delights that await you. But when you see the bananas in the local markets, you’ll realize they’re a world away from the plantation bananas that you’re used to. On Bali you’ll find tiny milk bananas, shrimp bananas with red peels, ivory bananas that remain green as they ripen and all manner of other bananas ranging from thin to fat. They’re all worth a try if only because they’re such delicious variations on an old favourite. And if you’re caught in the rain while you’re shopping, order a banana leaf with your banana — they make beautiful umbrellas.

Who wans to be in a such a heavenly place like this?

Sekumpul Waterfall is one of Bali’s most scenic natural attractions. The waterfall is actually a cluster of six to seven narrow cascades that form the centrepiece of a lush green bamboo forested valley. You can reach the falls on a nature trek through the namesake village of Sekumpul, which is located in upland region of the Buleleng regency in North Bali. The village is within an hour’s drive southeast from Lovina Beach.

The falls are fed by two upland streams, and is the most accessible of the collection of falls in the area. Even so, getting down here requires a good deal of effort, with paths comprising dirt tracks, a hundred or so steps and crossings over streams. There are two ways you can enjoy the falls. A trek leads you to purpose-built gazebos where you can cool down and catch your breath while enjoying the view of the 80m-tall majestic fall from a distance.

Floating free on this exotic rockpool ❤

Angel’s Billabong is one of Nusa Penida’s secret getaways in the form of a marvelous natural infinity pool.
With its emerald hues and crystalline waters, the Angel’s Billabong is the epitome of stunning. And apparently, the green floors of this particular infinity pool are so comfortable to walk on (not slippery), it actually feels carpeted.

Imagine that! We sure wish we were lounging around at Angel’s Billabong this very moment.
The place is believed to be a nymph bathing place by local residents. fresh and clear water.
Dubbed the swimming pool of fallen angels, Angel’s Billabong is a beautiful estuary of a river where the ocean tide meets the stream. It’s a long and wide pool guarded by a pair of cliffs on each side. Its greenish-blue water is so clear and transpicuous, and you can see the rocky river bed as you swim along.

Nothing better than spending the afternoon in a such a luxury place like this ❤️

Omnia Bali Dayclub is a luxurious daytime leisure venue slated to open in late 2017, which will be an integral part of the leisure offerings at ALILA’s The Cliff, a new all-suites extension of Alila Villas Uluwatu. This cliff-top day club enjoys a broad section on the eastern side of the resort’s complex of tiered suites, with uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean complementing this daytime chill-out spot’s cocktails, fine dining, swimming and poolside lounging.

Part of worldwide hospitality company, Hakkasan Group, Omnia Dayclub is an offshoot of the group’s Omnia Nightclub collection worldwide, with locations that include Las Vegas and San Diego. At the new venue in Uluwatu, the day club is set right next to Hakkasan’s premier dining spot, Sake no Hana, serving modern takes on classical Japanese delights, including sushi, sashimi, and toban and kamameshi delights, courtesy of its original restaurant in Mayfair, London.

The launch of Omnia Day Club in Bali sees the next stage in the group’s expansion into Southeast Asia, following similar openings of its three brands, including a Hakkasan restaurant in Jakarta. This all-day dining and lounging twist to its worldwide nightclub collection will be a great addition to Bali’s own offerings for cool chill out spots, particularly along the exotic and luxurious cliff edge resort area of south Bali.

Sit back and feel the breeze of this amazing blue paradise ❤

While in  Nusa Lembongan - Bali, be sure to visit the neighboring island Nusa Ceningan, only 20 minutes by motorcycle that you can rent from local people at price Rp 50.000 ( $5 ) for one day, to explore the hidden beaches like Dream beach, Tamarind beach, Sandy bay, and my absolute favorite new spot Blue Lagoon you should visit if you're looking for adrenaline junkie activities like cliff jumping.  Less touristy, the small island  offers some really nice private villas and bungalows with definitely incredible beach view at different price ranges starting from $30 per night, the village where you can blend in with the locals, restaurants with their own private swimming pool, overall Nusa Ceningan is the place to be for total relaxation. Who’s missing the good vibes in this place?

If you’re staying in Canggu chances are you’re going to spend a whole lot of your budget down at Old Man’s. The beachfront beer garden, which got it’s name from the surf break out front at Batu Bolong beach, is the perfect place to chill out after a day in the sun and surf. The atmosphere is casual, relaxed and friendly, just like Canggu in general. Everyone is welcomed, even dogs if they’re on a leash. It’s open daily from 7am until late, so you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner and sunset drinks.

The items on the menu ranges from local dishes like nasi goreng and curry, healthy options like muesli and salads, BBQ, burgers and pub grub like fish & chips. My favorite is definitely the lime granita, it’s the perfect way to cool down on hot sunny days. Prices are somewhat high compared to other places in Canggu, but what you pay for is really the fun vibe and stunning views. Cocktails are around 85k, small Bintangs 25k and the food ranging from 40k up to 180k for the black angus sirloin steak . It’s a simple concept, you order and pay at the cashier, collect your drinks from the bar and the food will be brought to your table.

Aussie artist Lucas Grogan is the man behind the vibrant blue murals Old Man’s is known for. The interior is an eclectic mix of wooden communal tables, plush couches, bean bags and colorful umbrellas. The is open concept throughout so you get a great view of the surf and shimmering grey sands of Batu Bolong beach.

Be sure to get down to Old Man’s on Dirty Ol’ Wednesdays for the beer pong challenge and a “dirty disco”. Enjoy live music on Fridays and different DJs on Salty Sundays which start at 5pm. Later in the evening the crowds usually head up to Deus ex Machina to dance the night away at their Sunday Session with live bands. On the last Saturday of every month Old Man’s host a market where the island creatives show up to sell their handicrafts, vintage clothing and fresh produce. You don’t want to miss it!

The Tirta Gangga royal water garden is a favourite retreat in the regency of Karangasem, east Bali. It was built in 1946 during the reign of the late raja of Karangasem, Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem (1887 - 1966). Tirta Gangga saw a series of restorations following the destructive hot showers of volcanic ash from the 1963 Mount Agung eruption.

The lavish water gardens owned by the royal Karangasem family feature 1.2ha of pools, ponds and fountains surrounded by neatly cut lawns adorned with stepping stones, ornate statues and tropical gardens.

Who’s excited to do a cliff jump in a such a beautiful place like this?
